Luxury Cube
For this project, we had to take an everyday object and reimagine it as something luxurious. I was assigned a toothpick, which was challenging but not because of the object itself, but figuring out how to sell it to the public.
I decided to target models, positioning the toothpick as a tool to help define their jawline on the runway. I named it Bois de Luxe,“luxury wood” in French, and designed the packaging with a wood grain texture on the outside and an abstract tree pattern inside to reflect its natural material.
This was one of my weakest projects. The first draft had pixelated textures, child-like graphics, and poor typography. But after feedback from my professor, I revised everything. I recreated the grain in Photoshop for a smoother look, reworked the layout, typography, and color scheme, and even designed a custom toothpick holder to elevate the luxury feel. The final version was a big improvement from what I originally had.
